My name is Aggee Kimpiab and I’m the freelance writer behind Aggeewrites.com.
That domain name isn’t winning any awards for creativity, but it was the best I could think of on the spot. So don’t judge.
Everyone loves a backstory. Let me tell you mine:
I built this website back in August 2022, using Elementor, WordPress and a $10 domain from Hostgator.
It all started on a boring evening when I watched a video on YouTube. A one hour crash course on building WordPress websites.
This is the one:
I followed Tyler’s advice to a T, launched my first website and the rest was history.
My original plan was to make Aggeewrites.com a portfolio website, a place to show off my copywriting work. Nothing more, nothing less.
It wasn’t until a few months ago that I started thinking about the ways I could actively build an income from my website.
So I went back to the drawing board, dug into lots of tutorials, bought a $195 course and experimented a little, learning all about blog monetisation.
And there it began – my quest to build a website that would make me a side income.
We all dream about making it big —selling that product for a six-figure deal or running the blog that frees us from the 9-to-5 hustle and bustle.
Most gurus will swear it’s a breeze. “Just join my 1-hour course,” they’ll say, “and you, too, can become a millionaire by tomorrow breakfast.”
But we know better—it’s not always that straightforward. Success online demands timing, effort, and yep, you got it, some luck. Funny how nobody really talks about the luck part.
I wanted to document the behind-the-scenes of building and growing websites – everything from the SEO, the content creation, content promotion, failures, victories and everything in between.
In short, I’ll be sharing my “realistic” journey of building websites.
That’s the heart of this project.
I’ll keep you updated as we go. Stay tuned!
